Artist Statement: I am continually inspired by nature around me and am usually exploring the gnarled trees of my Wisconsin woods. But this particular landscape takes its form from the large stone bead at the base of the tree which spoke to me of the warm and vast canyons of Western travels and my beloved trees which cling to life in the arid land so different from my daily evergreen surroundings.
