Artist Statement: Lament – an expression of grief over loss of self, a loved one or a state of affairs; ebbing and flowing, coming and going, a moving average of emotions, thoughts and memories; sometimes an outburst exploding, often a quiet but tumultuous internal monologue.
Size: 60″ x 33″
Materials: Hand dyed hand spun silk and wool fibers, Tencel, cotton gauze & silk yarn; felted wool, smooth tumbled rocks, recycled sweaters, wool ties & nylon, fabric paint, commercial yarns.
Techniques: Hand quilted and embroidered, gathered yarn, machine and hand felting, manipulation
