Artist Statement: Years ago I used indigo in my chemistry classes to teach oxidation. The coloring process has always appeared magical. Now, with a fresh eye, I am dyeing fabric with it for my artwork. Ode to Indigo is my first homage to this ancient dyeing process.

Size: 36″ x 26″

Materials: Hand-dyed silk and cotton; nylon ribbon

Techniques: Printed, bound, clamped, shibori, batiked, Indigo dyed, fused, machine quilted
