Artist Statement: I love cycling on the back roads of Wisconsin. They thread their way past fields that look like tapestry with every color and texture woven into them. In the open fields my views can go on for miles, the distant view softening around the edges. Then suddenly I am surrounded by a wooded canopy of oaks and pines with high contrast between the deep green shadows and the bright light of the sunshine filtering down.

Throughout the seasons, this natural tapestry changes its colors and textures, displaying something unique each time. One view that is constant through the seasons, are the wonderful farm animals and wildlife I see. They are details embroidered in the foreground of the colorful tapestry. My favorites are the cows. They come in every color and size. I talk to these creatures as I pass and chuckle to see their curious gazes staring back at this crazy creature whizzing past.
